Well.. I thoroughly enjoyed this! I related to so many things.. I have noticed the style mimicking problem on social media, and maybe it's one reason I HATE trends, but then, I have to try so hard to steer away from copying straight from reality since that is how I originally learned to draw. I have to avoid references as much as I can or I won't get an illustration! I'll get a realistic copy. I also decided that I like outlines, and that's my thing, and it's okay. I like the term "voice" instead of style.. okay that was long-winded, but wanted you to know that your time and thoughts were very much appreciated!!
Thank you! I'm so glad you liked it! I'm feeling excited to make more. :) Phew...sometimes I just have to not look at art online for a few days...especially if I'm trying to start something new. I just can't get the trends and styles I see so often out of my head. It's hard. Yay! Outlines! I tried to push them away but they were waiting on me to say "sorry" and invite them back. haha
Hi! I loved this episode so much. The intro music is amazing, very puppet theatery. I learned so much and will try out your advice and see how it works for me. Please do talk in your future episodes about coming up with ideas and everything else you mentioned I would love to hear it 😊 🐞
Thank you so much! Haha, glad to hear you liked the intro music! I looked through a few pages of sample music and when I heard it I knew immediately I HAD to use it. Please let us know know how the advice works! Which bits are you trying first? And yes! I'm thinking one of next episodes will be about ideation! My favorite bit!
I have started on a list of what Iike about my process and my drawings. And I have started a journal so I can write down when some good observation happens so I don't forget and to see how I'm enjoying the process and if not what can I change. I never really approached it this way. I have intentionally stopped looking at other peoples current work because I cought myself thinking 'how would that amazing artist do it' and that is not the way I want to be creating. Looking forward to your next episode and thank you for making such wonderful content
