I love to learn that everyone has their different strengths and to-be-developed-strengths on these categories! Personally, marketing is the toughest! ❀.(*´◡`*)❀

Yes! It's nice to know that everyone can use help with different aspects of this job (which is already so much work on its own) Sometimes for marketing I try to think of one of my drawings speaking for me, as a mascot, and it helps haha But it's tough to stay consistent. >_<

Can’t wait for part 2! I’m an idea person too, I can stay forever in idea/research mode. Process, when I finally start, can be another rabbit hole of just sketching and making textures. Choosing one thing and see the process through is very very hard. Finishing up and marketing, hardest still.

I feel the exact same way in process mode. It's hard to pick a direction and stick with it. And thank you! I'm working on Part 2 now! :)

This is so great! I have to say I am an idea/ process person (really depends on the project)

I hope you can go on more cabin adventures because this was a joy to read!

A fellow idea person! Yay! 💛

I hope we can too, we talked about hosting a retreat, though there’d be some logistics to figure out.

Well can I just say what a blessing to have a creative counterpart/friend like that! I’m always just all in my own head with these kinds of thoughts. Love reading your post!

Thank you! It truly is! I want everyone to have a supportive, creative community. 🙌 I’m so glad you enjoyed it! I hope part two helps get you out of your head a bit.💛

Oh wow.. I have exactly the same questions rolling around in my head about process. 😂

It's so hard! haha. I'm glad I'm not the only one, but I also sympathize. I hope Part Two helps a little!

I'm definitely an idea generator too! Then I get hung up on the process. This is happening with writing too. I have a zillion charming ideas but trying to build a whole narrative from them is challenging. Can't wait for more musing, friend!

You and I are two peas in an idea pod!! We need Vivien to train us in process! haha. I'll share what we did in part two and hopefully it helps ease us into the processes. Wow writing...I'm going to jot down some ideas that may be adaptable to the writing process...

P.S. Do you often feel you have an idea for the beginning of a story but then there is no direction for an ending? I do.

YES! Teach me your ways, Vivien! Ummm, noooo, I'm more on the 'here's a hilarious tidbit' that is definitely a story, but I'm not sure what the arc is. I also struggle with trying to squeeze too much in. I admire authors that can make random leaps and just let you fill in the details. But hey, I'm writing and trying!

So interesting! I think marketing is my weakness on most days. It feels like trying to run through quicksand.

I look forward to the next installment of your retreat recap!

Thank you! Ohhh I want to think of some low stakes marketing exercises to share then. :)

I feel like I can get stuck in the rush of the marketing phase and then I look up and there's no time for the other two...
